MY AUDIO & VIDEO PROJECTS
Meigs County Jail Levy Package
As co-producer of this package, I did most of the camerawork of the jail to depict its run-down state, as well as took part in writing the script and using Adobe Premiere to edit the final product. To view the full write-up on the levy ahead of the vote, click here. To listen to the audio version of this story, which I scripted and edited alone, click here. To view the full write-up about the result of the levy vote, including the live on-screen reporting I field-produced, click here.

Athens Invitational Marching Festival
For this project, I conducted two interviews, recorded natural sounds an collaborated with a photographer to ensure we got the right shots for our slideshow. I then edited the slideshow in Adobe Premiere, using the natural sounds, interviews and photos to tell the story of the festival.

Athens School Supply Drive Garners 30 Volunteers
For this story, I attended the event that had volunteers packing care packages of school supplies for classrooms. I interviewed two sources with direct connections to the story, wrote a script using soundbites from those interviews and natural sounds from the event, recorded my narration track, edited the story in Adobe Audition and exported it as an MP4 file for the episode. To read the article I wrote and listen to the piece, click here.

Arts Non-Profit Creates Materials for Upcoming Festival Social Media Video
For this project, I conducted two on-screen interviews, filmed the making of the festival materials, wrote the script, edited the project in Adobe Premiere, and posted it on WOUB's Instagram page here.

Irish Rights Stand-Up Clip
I cut this clip from a larger recording of myself doing stand-up, added different-colored captions to differentiate between myself and the audience member to whom I am speaking, added a bleep sound effect to the curse words, created a thumbnail and uploaded the final product to my Instagram page here.

Healthcare Navigators Program Cut
For this story, I broke down technical language to explain the role healthcare navigators play in the healthcare system. I wrote the script and narrated why Athens losing their healthcare navigator would have such an impact on the community. I also conducted and used soundbites from interviews with two sources familiar with the program and the Affordable Care Act, Deborah Miller and Dr. David Skinner, to provide further context for listeners. Additionally, I collected natural sounds from a health clinic to set the scene for listeners and wrote the anchor talk-in as part of my script. I edited the final project in Adobe Audition. To listen to the full piece, click here.

I also co-produced this episode as a whole, which I continued to do until I graduated 3 years later. In this role, I created the show's rundown, accepted and rejected pitches, mentored reporters to help them improve their ideas, gave notes on scripts and the audio production of stories, found stories from NPR to fill time as needed for the radio show broadcast and mixed episodes in Adobe Audition before uploading it to Soundcloud and iTunes. I also often co-hosted and solo-hosted the show, reading anchor talk-ins for reporters' stories.
